Rifles - Wool Wads improve the accuracy and standard deviation on most black powder rifles when used under a patched round ball, but show the most definitive improvements when used under Sabots and Maxi-Balls, Maxi Hunter, Buffalo Bullets, etc. At 100 yards, independent testing has shown reduction in group size by as much as 500%. Revolver Wads are made of 100% natural wool felt comes dry or lubricated. The pre-lubricated wads are impregnated with our special formulation lubricant made with natural products. Cap & Ball Revolver Wads are designed to be placed over the powder column with the ball on top of the wad to seal gases and protect from chain firing in the cylinder and to soften fouling.
These take the place of the over powder card and cushion wad combination. In independent testing Felt Wads have drastically improved pattern density over conventional wads by as much as 100%. Two Felt Wads over the powder and one overshot have produced excellent results in most guns.
No need for wet wad loading. By design, we have solved the problem of loading through a full choked barrel. Felt Wads have a memory and will return to their original size and shape after passing through the choke. A proper gas seal is maintained and will allow you the full benefits of your load.
